2011 Show Season
2011 has indeed been a stellar season for AKMA D DAY and trainer Dannelle Haugen. They started the season winning in Sport Horse In-hand and debuting with high scores in First Level dressage. They racked up more blues in Training and First Level dressage, Sport Horse Under Saddle and Sport Horse Show Hack in the “A” circuit. On the weekend of his 17th birthday, D-Day taught all the youngsters a thing or two as he took home 3 Regional Championships, a Reserve and two Top 5s at the Region 5 Sport Horse Championships. His championship blues were earned in Sport Horse In-Hand Stallions, Training Level Dressage, & Sport Horse Under Saddle. He additionally earned his reserve and Top 5s in Sport Horse In-hand amateur to handle, First Level Dressage and Sport Horse Show Hack respectively. He continued his winning ways at Region 4 with 2 more Championships and 2 Top 5’s. Through all his success, he earned his Legion of Supreme Merit. D-Day and Dannelle branched out for one weekend trying out an Arabian Native Costume. They both were fabulous and definitely the most beautiful pair in the class. The season was not yet complete though until he entered the Summervale Dressage Festival, an open (All breed) dressage show, and won both of his classes and captured the High Point for the show against many fabulous horses, including some very nice warmbloods.
Additionally, D-Day’s 2 year old colt, HM Nahar earned his first Regional Top Five in the Sport Horse In-Hand Stallions at Region 5. HM Magic Daybue is currently going beautifully under saddle. Look for all of them in the 2012 show season! A full sibling to HM Nahar and D-Day filly was born this year and we look forward to showing her off next season as well.
